The two-story tornado shelter addition features twelve new classrooms and can provide safe shelter to more than 1,200 occupants during a tornadic event. The west connector includes a 1,700 square-foot enclosed corridor along the west façade of the middle school. In addition, a 1,900 square-foot connecting lobby unites decades of construction under one roof by bridging the outdoor area between the middle school and high school buildings. Together, these projects increase the security and safety of students and faculty.
